Pepper's Story

Like many people with MS, I ignored my first episode assuming it was a pinched nerve or some other minor annoyance. But then, a few months later my body declared, "I will not be ignored!" I was living in Paris and I progressively lost the use of the right
side of my body. By the time I made it back to my family's in Ohio I couldn't lift my left arm or use my right leg. I was quickly diagnosed with MS and given steroids. My doctor wanted to start me on drugs, giving me a shot in my leg every month for the rest of
my life. But, I had always believed in the power of the mind and our bodies capability to heal itself. Doctors don't know what causes MS or what heals it. I wasn't convinced that drugs were the right option for me. Although it was a scary decision, with my family's support I began my long road to recovery. I read a lot, did research and trusted my body. I noticed what made me tired and what energized me. I did yoga and changed the way I ate. I would have an episode about every six-months, but each one would be less extreme then the last. Finally after 2 years. My balance still isn't what it use to be. But, today because of my food, lifestyle and yoga, I am strong, flexible, balanced and drug free! Yoga saves lives, let me help you save yours!
